On the 27th day of January 2023, Skink Tank ride first class in a Cobb & Co stagecoach to the good township of Ballarat, for a gig that journalists are already predicting to herald “Ballarat’s biggest economic boom since the 1851 discovery of gold in Buninyong”.
Not ones to blow their own bugle, Skink Tank (or “Skinks” as their mates know them) are in high spirits to deliver their home cooked variety of happy sad pub rock to the honest clientele of The Eastern Hotel. They’ll possibly make you laugh or cry, but either way you will be glad you took a punt.
Joining them will be The Small Intestines, whose brand of beachy introspective rock could be likened to alluvial nuggets panned from the creek. Opening proceedings will be local rock dogs The Thing From Spring, whose tone is dirtier than the Yarrowee River from which they emerged.
15 bucks on the door, and slightly cheaper if you buy them online earlier.
Skinks will also accept 20 milligrams of gold, based on the current AUD value per Oz.
