Gareth Skinner is a Melbourne based cellist and soundtrack composer. He has recorded and toured extensively with bands such as the Ergot Derivative, bzark, Disaster Plan and the Holy Sea. Gareth is currently playing with psychedelic rock band, The Sand Pebbles.

Having sound-tracked over a dozen films / TV productions, including: Crackerjack; Boytown (songs); both series of Judith Lucy’s TV shows; he is now working on scoring podcasts and collaborating with various Australian artists.

Describing his music as cello pop-tones of the void, “In Turmoil” walks a cello-infused tightrope between the abyss and the sublime. It is available on Bandcamp.

Having had a long-held regard for Ballarat and its music community, Gareth is stoked to be launching his album at The Eastern on Sunday Feb 6, 2022, with local band, Hoff and the Knight Riders, in support.
